Firework is explosive and beautiful
She dyes her hair rainbow it is long and silky
She can be really loud or super quite
Rainbows, stars and people are her favourite things because they are amazing like her.
Water and Swimming frighten firework and she wants to run away

to people who will watch her put on a show.

This is my writing for this week. The theme was Guy Fawkes so I decided to do
personification writing.

When I Turn Back Time Writing

When I turn back time…
I am ten years old, and I am in the auditorium getting ready to go on stage.
The audience chatting excitedly and the students outside are cracking up
with laughter. The noise of Mrs Fox doing mic checks, I block my ears.
Screech!!!!

It is nearly show time. I am now pacing back and forth, waiting for my
time to shine. The backstage hands are bringing in the first class. Willow
bursts through the door. Everything goes quiet.

Mr Ward calls to Willow and I “Samantha, Willow you’re on!” We go on
stage with grinning faces ready for the spotlights to come on. I open my
mouth ready to speak.

I enjoyed Wearable Arts.
A few weeks ago we had our Wearable arts shows. We had to write about Wearable Arts and follow a model called 'When I Turn Back Time' I hope you like my writing.

How To Be A School Leader

Do you want to be a school leader? Well listen up as I tell you how you will get to
be a school leader and what you have to do as a school leader.

One of the first traits you need to have to be a good school leader is responsibility,
you need to show you can be responsible by being on time to your jobs that you
already have, placing rubbish in the bin and looking after your belongings and
others belongings as well. If your a school leader you need to do all these
things and more because you will get lots more jobs like cloak bay and office duty.

Another part of responsibility is time management, you can manage your time
by getting every you need in class ready before school and setting timers to help
you stay on track with your school work, you will really need to do that if you’re a
school leader because sometimes during class time you have to do jobs.

You also need to be confident. Showing confidence looks like contributing

to class discussions, if you are thinking I won’t be a school leader because
I’m too shy well a way to improve your shyness is try not to be hard on yourself.
You need to be confident if you are a school leader because you host Assemblies
and other special events.

Probably the most important one is respect, respect looks like always listening
to the person who’s talking, walking in the class and library and using kind words
like please and thank you. You use this a lot in everyday life at school especially as school leader. As a school leader you have to be very respectful when you are handing out tokens and doing office duty. As a school leader you have to always wear the correct school uniform when you are at school.

And you also need to be a learner, being a learner looks like being able to problem
solve, setting goals for yourself and be focused on your learning when you need to
be. If you are a school leader you need to get your work finished quickly so if you get
called up to do a job and you haven’t finished your work you might get told of.

Outside of school you can use all these qualities to get a job bonus if you’re a
school leader the place you’re applying to will get told you were a school leader so
you are more likely to get the job.

If you want to be a school leader do all these things you just might be a school leader.

Hufflepuff report

Hufflepuff is a Hogwarts house, there are four Hogwarts houses
Ravenclaw, Slytherin, Gryffindor And Hufflepuff.

The history of Hufflepuff starts with Helga Hufflepuff. She took the students
that appreciated hard work, patience and loyalty. But she would also take
anyone who the other founders wouldn’t.

Hufflepuff is famous for there colours and symbols. There main symbol is Badger,
a Badger symbolises the house values. Yellow, gold and black are Hufflepuffs
house colours.

The traits of a Hufflepuff are Kindness, loyalty, hardworking and lots of them
are foodies.

The Hufflepuff common room is right next to the kitchen. Inside it is very
cosy with nice earthy hughes. It also has quite a bit of plants.

There are lots of famous Hufflepuffs, Helga Hufflepuff the house founder
Fat Friar the house ghost, Cedric Diggory one of the triwizard tournaments
contestants  and Pomona Sprout is the head of Hufflepuff she also teaches
Herbology.

You can use the Hufflepuff traits a lot in the real world Hard work will help
you get more things done. Loyalty and kindness will help you make
friends.

I hope you learnt more about Hufflepuff.

Hiwi The Kiwi

You may want to go fishing soon, right? Well I will be telling you about safety on water, how to look after our seabirds, catching fish and fun facts about fishing.

Fishing for the future is about looking after our sea. We need to fish for the future so in the future people can enjoy fishing like we do.

It is easy to keep safe on the water once you know how to. Firstly, you need to always wear a life jacket when on a boat, kayak or canoe so if it gets into trouble you will just start to bob up and down in the water. It is very important to teach students how to swim, so that when they go on a boat and it happens to tip over they can swim to safety.

No one wants to catch a seabird, right? Always bring a bucket of water on your boat if you’re going fishing to throw at the seabirds to scare them away, because seabirds like the smell of bait, If they happen to swop down into the water and eat the bait without knowing it has a hook inside they will die sadly. Make sure not to drop plastic in the water because birds think it is food and if they eat it they won’t be able to eat anything else. Share the message SOS save our seabirds.

When you going fishing don’t forget these things. Bring a ruler to measure the fish to make sure they are not too big or too small, for example snapper must be 30cms, you let go of small fish because they are babies and if you take them you are stopping them growing so they can’t reproduce and have babies, and you don’t take big ones because they might have eggs in their tummy, if you take the big fish you could be taking lots of babies too! You need to measure them from the middle of the tail to the nose. Also bring some ice on the boat so they can stay cold, make sure to remember if they are saltwater fish put them in salt ice so they don’t go off. When you catch a fish pick it up with a wet towel so you don’t rub of it’s scales.

You might be thinking how and why do we keep our seas clean. Make sure not to throw rubbish in the water or any where for that matter. Also please don’t feed seabirds because they could fly over the water and drop the food you gave them into the water causing it to pollute the water so the fish die. You do all these things to make sure that the fish don’t die.

Do you want to know some more fun facts about fish and fishing? Although jellyfish and crayfish have the word ‘fish’ in their name, they aren’t actually fish. Kaimoana is the Maori word for seafood. Did you know there are more than 3000 types of fish.

I hope you do all these things when you go fishing to keep the seabirds and fish safe.

How to feel calm writing

How To Feel Calm

Are you ever mad or overwhelmed? Well I can help with that. Listen up as I tell you how
to feel calm.

First, how to know when you are overwhelmed. When everything is a bit much for you.
You feel like you’re about to break down and start yelling at people for no reason.
Also you need time to think and calm down.

Next, you go to kit kat. You might be wondering what you should do in kit kat,
you probably need to think about what’s wrong and why you are feeling
overwhelmed. Take deep breaths to calm you down.  Look outside at the
birds flying and hopping around, maybe look at the trees
(it is really nice in autumn)

You could think about a happy place, for example, bright and colourful scenery.
Full of candy and animals, you could even put unicorns and dragons in it
because you make it up. Also it might have a lot of nature if that’s your
thing like big beautiful trees to climb and play on.

You also may be thinking, how do I know when I feel calm. A sign of being
calm is smiling and feeling happy. That you start to focus on the positive
and not negative. It could also be when you don’t want to scream and
shout at other people.

I hope you learnt how to calm yourself down and to realise when you
are feeling overwhelmed.
