Pros of being a DOC ranger:
1. protecting animals
2. being responsible
3. having an excuse to have lots of pets
Cons of being a DOC ranger:
1. it would get frustrating
2. when you have a headache it would get worse with animal noises
3. it would be harder in summer because you are hot

Thanks for sharing with us the pro's and the con's of being a DOC ranger. You're right, being a ranger for the Department of Conservation is great because you are responsible for protecting the wild animals, and you could say you have many wild pets that you look after!
Some bad things you've told us about being a DOC ranger could include, getting frustrated with the animals, your head could get very sore from all the loud noises the animals make, and you would get very hot in the Summer time! Good thing the DOC rangers are equiped with the right sun protection whilst working in the forests.
