I think logging should not be allowed in New Zealand because:
1. there is less oxygen for us humans
2. animals have to find other places to live
3. birds will have to make their nests on the ground and predators can get their egg easily
4. Some animals will go extinct
that's why I don't support logging
Hey Samantha,
ReplyDeleteNice work completing another Summer Learning Journey activity. Thanks for sharing with us your thoughts about logging in New Zealand. You've made some good points to why you think logging shouldn't be allowed in New Zealand. You're right, animals that do make homes within the Pine forests often have to relocate if that section is going to be logged. However, Birds are very clever animals and very protective over their eggs. Birds often relocate to other tree's nearby and so they wouldn't have to nest on the ground, because as you said, predators can easily get to their eggs. One of the benefits about logging is that the companies do replant areas that have been logged— however only to cut down the Pine trees again after they've grown to a particular size.
Thanks for sharing with us Samantha!
I look forward to reading more of your blog entries.
Thanks,
Jordan
