My Dad is strong because he can speak up for himself. He can lift a huge bunny hutch without dropping it. He never cries when someone hurts him physically or emotionally. He lefts lots of furniture. So he's really strong.

Pros of being a DOC ranger:
1. protecting animals 
2. being responsible
3. having an excuse to have lots of pets

Cons of being a DOC ranger:
1. it would get frustrating
2. when you have a headache it would get worse with animal noises
3. it would be harder in summer because you are hot

SLJ-Towering Timbers

I think logging should not be allowed in New Zealand because:
1. there is less oxygen for us humans
2. animals have to find other places to live
3. birds will have to  make their nests on the ground and predators can get their egg easily
4. Some animals will go extinct
that's why I don't support logging   

SLJ-Surfs Up!

I love swimming in summer because it is a great way to cool of and have fun I like swimming a my pool because I can always go, I also like Massey Park Pools but my pool's better.

SLJ-North and South

I think my home town is great fun because we have 2 playgrounds, at one of the playgrounds there is monkey madness I enjoy the challenge of going on all of them after the other. At the other playground there is a long twisty slide and a great area to play hide and seek be hide all the climbing walls and tall platforms.

My home town is also great because it has great bike tracks. Steep and winding roads, good beautiful scenery and wacky stake parks.

So that's why my home town is great.

SLJ-Planes, Trains and Automobiles

I would go hiking because it would be fun to do with family and friends. I also like going outdoors and getting some fresh air. 

SLJ-The Seven Sisters

The seven sisters was about eight boys (counting Mitai) In the story Mitai and his brothers found  girls, they all had shining gold hair., they all fell in love except Mitai. The brothers took the sisters back to the village to make them their wives. They stop caring about themselves and started caring about their wife's. All the wives disappeared  so Mitai found out that he had to watch to find out where they went.  Mitai saw 6 birds sitting in a tree then another one flew out of the house to join them, Mitai followed them. Mitai heard that they wanted to starve Mitai's brothers, Mitai told his brothers they didn't care. then Mitai said,
"You guys use to be Strong and handsome now you so skinny" 
the brothers bevelled him. they decided to catch them in nets, and put them far from earth. each of the brothers caught their wives and gave them to Mitai, Mitai flew into the sky as an albatross and gave them to Uru-te-ngangara and Uru-te-ngangara took them to put them far far away. To this day you can see the seven sisters once a year in the sky.

I think it's not fair that  tourists who want to see Machu picchu, because they won't end up going. If they already bought plane tickets and you're saying they can't come that's just wasting their money. They also might of wanted to come here for a long time. That's not fair is it.

Things I would do to preserve the Great Barrier Reef:
1. Sell plants and trees
2. bake ocean themed cupcakes
3. Have a beach day fundraiser Eg; pick up litter, help beach whales\any type of sea life.

SLJ-Gardians of the Sea

I think the taniwha is fake because the video when they thought the taniwha blew a bubble. Realistically it could be a big school of fish. Also the story sounds a bit like ones about dragons and unicorns, so that isn't very realistic either. When it says if you go in the river you will get eaten by the taniwha.

So that's why I think the taniwha is fake, but is's fine if you disagree I don't mind.

SLJ-Beat Plastic Pollution

I would only use reusable bags and reusable straws. I would also help clean up the ocean and beaches and use glass cups instead of plastic cups. 

SLJ-The Plastic Pledge

I think it is great that Countdown has gone plastic bag free. Hopefully it helps with clearing up global warming a bit. It's also great because sea life won't be eating as much plastic bags. I think every super market should do this.

SLJ-A Flying Fox

If I went ziplining I would be a little bit nervous at first then I would pluck up the courage to go on one.

Then I would get super into it and go crazy, trying to go on it again and again. until I was exhausted.

SLJ-Let It Rain

I opened the door the day after acid rain and I tried to scream but it was soundless. I finally got my vocal cords to work "Mum, Georgina come here" I yelled. 

My mum and my sister came running, 

"what is it" My mum asked with a worried tone in her voice, 

"look outside" I said

"oh my god" Said my sister.

  out side there was dead flowers and tree as far as I could see. puddles of acid all over the ground. I went to see where my cat was and he was laying on the ground died. our vegetable patch was all brown a dead. we walked to the lake and we saw died fish and yucky brown water.     

SLJ-Changing Climates

When it's raining I like to read books in my room. I also love to play bored games with my siblings. I love to draw when it's raining (even though I'm not the best at it) I like to colour in. I also like watching movies in the lounge and of course I like doing the summer learning journey!

SLJ-Persistent Pollution

I learnt that some pollution is from natural causes. I also learnt that humans make three different kinds of pollution Greenhouse Gases, SMOG and Toxic Pollutants. I learnt that SMOG makes it harder to see and It can make you sick.

If I could have any superpower it would be weather modification (ability to change the weather) This would be helpful because on Christmas I could just make it snow so me and my siblings could play in it (my two sisters and my brother) I would also make it sunny when it is raining but make it raining if there's something I don't want to do involving going outside. Eg: trip I don't want to go on. If someone I don't like comes up to me and is mean I would make a tiny rain cloud to follow them. 

SLJ-Bird of the Year!

The fantail otherwise know as Pīwakawaka lives  in Native forests orchards and gardens. They eat mostly Moths flies beetles and spiders, but they sometimes small fruit. they live to about 3 years old

SLJ-Flying Fungi

If it takes five days to clean 1 kind of mould it would take 35 days\5 weeks. I know this because 7x5=35 to get it in weeks I divide it into 7 parts I got 5 weeks.

SLJ-You are my Sunshine

Well to protect yourself from the sun you should put on sunscreen and make sure to reapply! You should also stay in the shade more then in the sun. Also wear a hat, keep in mind brim hats are better then caps. Put on sunglasses and put on a shirt. Stay sun smart kids

SLJ-Togs or Trackies?

I prefer to go place in early autumn because it is quite cool and dry. You can play in the leaves, go to the beach and go to theme parks like rainbows end and there won't be as many people as there would be in summer.

SLJ-Off the Menu

I think over fishing is bad but they should have to pay that much money maybe somewhere around $550 would be fine. Some of those people who fish need more money for food. But then again the fish                      might not be able to breed cause there aren't enough fish to breed.
                      So in some ways it is a reasonable amount and in some it's not.

SLJ-Picture Perfect

In this picture it looks like she is trying to get a great photo to post on social media. She is trying to get good lighting or a good photo of the lake and the houses. She could also be making a vlog channel of her trip. She might also be about to jump into the lake.  

SLJ-Night Owls

I am in early riser, I wake up at 6:00am every morning then I get dressed and do all my jobs. I eat breakfast around 7:00am. then I brush my teeth. I go to bed around 7:45pm. But my sister is a night owl and she wakes up around 6:30am but she is just like a zombie and she goes to bed late. My mum is the same as me an early riser. My Dad is a night owl like my sister he can go to bed at 1:30am because he can function on not much sleep.

SLJ-Weaving a Tall Tale…

I would like to try weaving because it would be very practical. I could make bags with them so I could use those instead of plastic bags so I could save the planet. I would make great gifts and decorations.

SLJ-The Great Taupo Cycle Challenge

on my support crew I would have my Dad, Ian  because he loves cycling and he would give me 
some tip and tricks. I would have my bunny, Chibi because he likes getting active so I see him 
Jumping along next to me and lastly I would have my best friend, Emily. Because she would
 encourage me to keep going when I got tried and she loves going outside you can visit her blog.

SLJ-Salt and Pepper

This is my hotel. I would build my hotel at mission bay, Auckland. It would be built out of red bricks and tills.

SLJ-Pancakes and Maple Syrup?

My favourite food is sausage rolls. Instructions on how to make it:

1. Preheat oven to 220c

2.Put the sausage meat, soup In a large bowl.Using a fork, stir everything till mixed.

3. Divide the mixture into three equal pieces on a chopping board. Shape each piece of of sausage meat into a roll  

4. Cut each pastry sheet in half. Spread lightly with tomato sauce.Put a piece of sausage meat on each piece of pastry. Roll up.

5. Cut each roll into 6 pieces. Place on the oven tray. Then brush Over with milk.

6.Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 min or until sausages or golden brown.

My beast would have brown fur, a big bushy main like a lion the main would be purple, it would have big eyes the size of golf balls, and it would be the size of a car. It would feel like a minky blanket.  It would eat tiny bugs like beetles, cockroaches and even spiders.
